Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

Recently I went to north Georgia and rode the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway with some of my family. It turned out to be a really gorgeous day and a fun family outing.

When we got off the train we went to Mercier Orchards to get apples and stopped at a scenic overlook on the way home. I love going north in the fall. So beautiful!

If you’ve never been to Blue Ridge in the fall to see the foliage and North Georgia mountains I would definitely recommend it!

Simpson Farm

It may be a photo cliche but I love photographing old/abandoned houses or buildings. I’m always looking for awesome old things and places to photograph especially when I’m going through rural areas.

I was traveling from Gainesville to Hartwell and saw a ton of rusty cars lined up in a field. I couldn’t resist stopping and spending some time with the rusting cars, trucks, ambulances, and tractors. Obviously they are there for a purpose. I saw the gate with Simpson Farm over it and went home to research it.

From the little bit of information I found it seems to be a place for photographers and amazing background for photoshoots. Such a cool find!

Yes the cars were awesome but I stood in the rain for an embarrassing amount of time amazed at how crazy this rusting doll house reminded me of the house across the street.

A random stop in a rural area by myself definitely turned out worth it.

Cross Fit Engagement

A friend of mine does cross fit and asked me if I would want to take engagement photos of a  cross fit couple that goes to the same gym. Turns out I went to school with them both and didn’t realize it until I got to the box. Small world! Anyway, Dani and Mark wanted engagement pictures that highlighted their passion for cross fit and each other. These are some of my favorites from their shoot. Enjoy.

I’m back!

Wow I didn’t realize how long it’s been since I’ve posted something! I’m sorry! We got into the busy season at work so I haven’t done a whole lot on my own but I have been shooting some lately so I am going to use the next week or so to catch you up. I’ll start with a couple from a sweet baby shower at the end of August.
